Connected Classroom installed

20/11/2008 11:16:00 AM
We have been very excited at Guyra Central School this week to have our Connected Classroom installed. The facilities associated with this include another interactive whiteboard for our students and full video-conferencing facilities. Students will be able to have direct video links to allow online field trips to places such as the State Library, The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority and the National Museum of Australia.

University and industry experts are able to be connected into our classrooms to deliver lectures and answer student questions. Quality teaching will be enhanced through the use of Information Communication Technology, and teachers will have greater capacity to personalise learning for students.

Eventually every public school in NSW will be equipped with Interactive Classroom facilities.

The foyer area of our school has been brightened considerably this week with the arrival of five school promotional banners. Next time you’re at school why not call in and have a look. There are some simply gorgeous photos of Guyra Central School’s students. We have also been working closely with a graphic designer around our school logo and will be giving students, parents and staff the opportunity to vote on these in the coming weeks.

This week our secondary school captains are profiled in the newsletter. Ashley and Abe are already doing a great job leading our school.

Our K – 6 students are busily preparing for our end of year performance and swimming school, while students in Year 7 – 12 are looking forward to the end of examinations and the start of Term 5 activities.

16/12/2008 | So we now have desperate parents attempting to bribe teachers to get their children into a selective high school. What a sad indictment of our education policies, the holy grail of which is parental choice.
