Get ready for the Rotary Christmas Carnival

20/11/2008 11:14:00 AM
Go a little wild this year at the Guyra Rotary Christmas Street Parade and Carnival.

When? Sunday, December 7 from 10.00am till 3.00pm.

Enjoy a fun filled day of market stalls, entertainment and dancing; try your luck to win a ham or some seafood. There is something for all the family to enjoy. Main street businesses will be open for an opportunity to do some Christmas shopping.

The Carnival will kick off with market stalls and music and then Santa will lead the ever popular Street Parade. There are special prizes for kids who enter the parade, so decorate those bikes, make your costumes and be at Apex Park (opposite the Bowling Club) by 10.30am.

The highlight of the Carnival will be the second “Great Tomatoe Crushing Event” sponsored by the Guyra Tomato Farm.

Have you entered your team for this event?

You will need four to six people, an entry fee of $24 and phone Scot MacDonald on 6779 1599 or Martha at the Argus on 6779 1730 to enter your team.

Have you organised your float yet?

Last year’s carnival saw over 70 participants with floats ranging from emergency service vehicles, children on decorated bikes, antique tractors, vintage cars and novelty decorated floats.

So get your thinking caps on and start decorating those floats now.

For further information or to register your float for the parade please contact Scot MacDonald on 6779 1599.

Major sponsors of the Carnival are Jobs Australia and NECU, along with the generous support of many Guyra businesses.

16/12/2008 | So we now have desperate parents attempting to bribe teachers to get their children into a selective high school. What a sad indictment of our education policies, the holy grail of which is parental choice.
